Abstract

1464195 Polymers obtained from isocyanates KAO SOAP CO Ltd 21 Aug 1975 [23 Aug 1974] 34765/75 Heading C3R [Also in Division C2] A poly-p-xylylene isocyanurate) is made by reacting bis - (4 - isocyanotomethylbenzyl)- isocyanurate lithium salt with p-xylylenedichloride in tetramethylurea at 110‹ C. The reaction may be performed in any aproticsolvent containing a S or N atom (e.g. dimethylformamide or dimethylsulphoxide) at 50- 200‹ C.
