Abstract
1463091 Inverting cases during transfer between conveyers BRITISH MATHEWS Ltd 8 July 1975 [8 July 1974] 30166/74 Heading B8A A row of cases 68 fed by a conveyer 10 on to a platform 12, are transferred laterally to the direction of the conveyer, by a pusher 36, so as to topple off the edge 35 of the platform 12 and arrive in inverted positions on a lower platform formed by conveyer chains 50. The conveyer 10 is stopped by engagement of the leading case 68 of the row, with a plate 22 which comprises a limit switch (not shown). The position of the plate 22 may be adjusted by a pneumatic ram 24. A clamp 26, 28 (Fig. 2), holds back the leading case of the following row. The pusher 36 is one of three carried by endless driving chains 38. As shown, inversion of the cases occurs by the action of them sliding on a surface 56 after the first topple over the edge 35. This directs them against a surface 62 which causes further turning about an edge 60. In a modification (not shown), the member 54 is replaced by a driven roller.
