Abstract
1462885 Disazo pigments HOECHST AG 6 June 1974 [8 June 1973] 25130/74 Heading C4P Novel disazo pigments of formula: (where X 1 , X 2 , Y 1 and Y 2 which may be identical or different are H, methyl, methoxy, Cl or Br; R is methyl, ethyl or phenyl optionally substituted by one or two chlorine or bromine atoms) are prepared by diazotizing the appropriate aromatic amines and coupling with corresponding 1, 4-bisacetoacetylaminobenzene. The coupling may take place in the presence of a dispersing agent and also in organic solvents. The dyes obtained are preferably after-treated by heating in water or in an organic solvent to obtain improved crystal structure. The dyes are used for colouring lakes, lacquers, lacquer forming compounds, printing pastes, dispersion paints, natural and synthetic resins, paper, and solutions and products of acetyl cellulose, or textile fibre materials. Particular natural and synthetic resins are aminoplasts or phenoplasts and polystyrene, polyolefines, polyacryl and polyvinyl compounds, polyesters, rubber casein or silicone resins; textile materials specified are natural or regenerated cellulose. Also viscose rayon, cellulose esters or ethers, polyamides, polyurethanes, polyglycol terephthalates or polyacrylonitrile are preferably coloured in the spinning mass.
