Abstract

1462625 Cigarette making machines MOLINS Ltd 9 July 1974 [12 July 1973 1 Dec 1973] 33261/73 and 55777/73 Heading A2C Waste tobacco from a cigarette making machine is returned to the filler stream such that it remains in the filler stream after trimming. As shown, the filler stream is formed in an air pervious band 24, the waste tobacco being introduced into an upward flow of air so that it impinges on the band upstream of the filler stream. Variations in the flow of he waste tobacco are eliminated by using a hopper 19 into which waste tobacco is fed. The hopper is supplied by a conduit 18 the other end of which communicates with a box 13 surmounted by a vibrating sieve 15 for separating tobacco from wrappers or filter plugs.
