Abstract

1461903 Monitoring cigarette or filter rods HAUNI-WERKE KORBER & CO KG 24 Oct 1975 [31 Oct 1974] 43695/75 Heading A2C In a cigarette or filter rod machine, a monitoring device consists of a transparent guide for the rod and a light source and detector arranged so that the light path penetrates the transparent material. The guide is located between a rod cutting device and a discharge conveyor for the cut articles. Preferably the light source 134 and detector 136 are located on the side of the guide 133 remote from the rod article 120 such that the article reflect rays of light coming from the light source towards receiver. Alternatively (Fig. 2) the source 34 and detector 36 are on opposite sides of the guide 33.
