Abstract

146,135. Insley Manufacturing Co., (Assignees of Insley, W. H., and Rasmussen, A. C.). April 14, 1917, [Convention date]. Hoists with guided skips.-In apparatus for handling concrete of the kind in which a ship 13 movable vertically in a structure 10 is tipped automatically to discharge into a hopper 23 by means mounted on the hopper, the tipping means can be retracted clear of the structure when the hopper is to be moved vertically. The tipping-device comprises two pairs of parallel curved brackets 34, each pair of which is pivotally mounted near an end of a cross-bar 30 on the hopper. The brackets can be turned so that their inner ends are in position to receive rollers 14 mounted on the skip, or so that they are outside the structure. The brackets arc held in tipping position by rods 36.
