Abstract

1460970 Basin/bidet units HARTMUTWOLFGANG MAIER-GERBER 22 March 1974 [24 March 1973] 12813/74 Addition to 1389419 Heading A4N The washing appliance of Specification No. 1389419 is modified in that the pedestal thereof includes a portion 31 beneath the bidet accommodating a waste water collection chamber 34 for receiving waste water from the bidet through a pipe 33, and a pump 40 for pumping water from said chamber, when the pressure therein reaches a predetermined value sensed by a transmitter 37 which actuates a switch 39 controlling the pump operation, to a common drain of the bowl and bidet, which also have a common set of fittings for mixed water supply. Portion 31 is generally horizontal and has a vertically adjustable support 45 underneath. A residual quantity of water in chamber 34 on switching off the pump acts as an odour trap. Portion 31 and the bidet may be moulded as a unit, said portion, the bidet, chamber 34, and the pump being pivotal together. A switch is provided for switching the water supply from the bowl to the bidet and vice versa.
