Abstract

1460132 Spray producers KRAUSSMAFFEI AG 4 March 1975 [23 March 1974] 8969/75 Heading B2F Apparatus for atomising a liquid or pasty substance, comprises an atomiser disc 2 rotatable about a vertical axis and positioned below an annular feed passage 10 for the substance, and a distributor insert 13 having a lower portion in the form of a downwardly tapering cone frustum or a hollow cylinder coaxial with the disc, said insert having an inner surface 12 adjoining the radially externally situated side wall of the annular passage and a lower edge 14 adjacent disc 2 to form an annular gap 16 for the passage of the substance which is spread out over the disc surface with the aid of centrifugal force. The disc 2 may be displaceable vertically to alter the width of gap 16. A hollow frustoconical deflector insert 23 may be provided inside insert 13 to form an annular pre-gap 29 therewith, the deflector insert being displaceable vertically to alter the width of gap 29. The substance issues from the apparatus from slots 18 between vane inserts 17. A double outer wall 9 for the passage of cooling medium is provided.
