Abstract

1459961 Reciprocating pumps PITTWAY CORP [trading as SEAQUIST VALVE CO] 11 April 1975 [6 May 1974] 14968/75 Heading F1A A finger-actuated pump for discharging the contents of a container 24 as a spray or jet, comprises a diaphragm 53, Fig. 1, defining a pumping chamber 54 communicating with the container interior via a chamber 70, Fig. 2, with a vane check-valve 88, and with a discharge nozzle 64 via a chamber 72 with a vane check-valve 98, the container being vented to atmosphere via a chamber 68 with a vane check-valve 78. The pump head may have a locking ring (46), Figs. 5 to 8 (not shown), which is rotatable between positions blocking or releasing outlet valve-member 60, indicia being provided to show the setting of the locking ring. The housing may incorporate a hinged member (51), Figs. 9 and 12 (not shown), for depressing diaphragm 53. Mounting portion 18 may be interchanged with others of different height, Figs. 14 and 15 (not shown).
