1459532 Premix for addition to detergent powders SOLVAY & CIE 8 Nov 1974 [9 Nov 1973] 48429/74 Heading C5D Free-blowing premix for addition to a detergent powder, consists of particles, especially granules, which comprise a water-soluble salt of an unbranched or branched hydroxycarboxylic polymer or copolymer, the main chain of which contains essentially carbon and carries carboxyl and hydroxyl groups in the respective proportion of 1 : 10 to 20 : 1 and at least one surfactant chosen from (A) nonionic surfactants which are liquid or paste-like at a temperature below 180‹ C. and (B) anionic or amphoteric surfactants which are heat-sensitive (defined). The non- ionic surfactants (B) may be ethylene oxide (3-30 units) condensates of C 8 -C 20 fatty alcohols, fatty acids or alkyl phenols, amines or amides; and ethylene oxide-propylene oxide condensates. In Example I, sodium poly-α- hydroxyacrylate (Specification 1,328,749) preheated to 40‹ C. is mixed with liquid ethoxylated (11 moles) C 14 -C 15 aliphatic alcohol with or without the further addition of water, also at 40‹ C., and is granulated to form a product containing 34% of nonionic surfactant. In Example II, the sodium poly-α-hydroxyacrylate is pelleted and comminuted and then mixed with the liquid nonionic surfactant of Example
