1459430 Heating and ventilating devices LUFTKOMFORT AB 28 Dec 1973 [29 Dec 1972] 59969/73 Heading F4V A heating and ventilating apparatus for a room, e.g. in a pavilion, comprises a plurality of units arranged side by side in a row mounted in the angle between the ceiling and an outer wall 19 of the room, each unit having a housing with apertures 10 in two opposed walls 9, a wall remote from wall 19 with a grid 6 for flow of air to or from the room and a bottom wall defined by a radiation heating element 4 backed by thermally insulating material 5, each element 4 forming an acute angle with wall 19 whereby heat is radiated towards wall 19, and adjacent units in the row being in air flow communication through the apertures 10 in walls 9 which are in mutual contact to form a duct. The unit shown is for use at one end of the row to supply air thereto from outside the building and includes a portion 8 which extends through wall 19 to an opening 7, which is closed in the other units of the row, a filter 14, a blower 15 having its outlet in a partition 11, and a heater 16, the grid 6 in this end unit being closed by a cover 18. An automatic control device 17 is provided to switch on or off the blower 15 and heater 16 in response to a temperature sensor in the room. The grids 6 along the row of units may be partially shielded to ensure uniform distribution of air along the duct. Each element 4 is formed by a semi-conductor sheet sandwiched between two aluminium sheets, or a panel radiator supplied with liquid or gaseous media or electrically heated. Two rows of units respectively for supply of air to and withdrawal of air from the room may be located at opposite ends of the room. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 5), the air inlet to the end unit is in its upper wall and the blower 15 and heater 16 are located in a duct leading thereto.
