Abstract

1458326 Two-part coupling HUGHES AIRCRAFT CO 6 May 1975 [8 May 1974] 18963/75 Heading H2E A male coaxial connector portion 10 consists of an inner contact 12 for receiving a pin at one end 20 and a bore at the other end 22 for the inner conductor of a coaxial cable, two colinear plastically deformable insulating sleeves 16, 18 enclosed by a single housing 14 having radially opposed parts 36 positioned about the bore of end 22, and a crimp ring 116 which slips over the cable outer conductor, the inner and outer conductors being crimped in a single operation. The housing 14 is made from flat stock with dovetail joins (34, Fig. 1b, not shown) in the seam 32. A retention clip 64 is also provided. The insulating sleeve 18 has a nose section 56 and shoulder 58 against which the housing abuts. A female mating connector (70, Fig. 2, not shown) has a male inner pin 80 and can also be crimped in a single operation. Its housing 74 is deformed inwardly at (105, Fig. 2b, not shown) to ensure good electrical contact between housings.
