1457967 Spot-type disc brakes REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT and AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT 24 April 1974 [9 May 1973] 18018/74 Heading F2E In a disc brake of the type in which the sliding caliper is guided by two rods secured in orifices in either the caliper or a fixed member and extending through orifices in the other member, one, and only one, of the guide rods is secured by means of an elastic sleeve in the appropriate orifice. As shown, the disc brake comprises a fixed member 1 having two orifices, one of which is shown at 5a. Slidable in orifice 5a is a guide rod 5 and slidable in the other orifice is a guide rod 4, Fig. 2 (not shown). Each guide rod is secured in an orifice in part of a caliper 2; an elastic sleeve 16 is interposed between guide rod 5 and the corresponding orifice 15a in caliper 2. Preferably metal sockets 16a, 16b also are provided. The caliper orifice for guide rod 4 is smaller and has no elastic sleeve: it engages the rod directly.
