Abstract

1454979 Meshing-screw compressors STAL REFRIGERATION AB 8 April 1975 [11 April 1974] 14410/75 Heading F4H [Also in Division F1] In a meshing-screw refrigerant-compressor comprising a conventional slide-valve to regulate its output sets of holes 16, 17, Fig. 3, are formed in the casing so as to communicate with the helical grooves of the rotors, and to obtain an "economizer effect" gaseous refrigerant collected in a receiver 18 between the condenser and evaporator is re-circulated by way of either set of holes in accordance with the setting of the slide-valve. Connection of the receiver to the appropriate holes may be effected by valves 13, 15. More than two sets of holes may be provided, the appropriate set being connected to the receiver through a hole in a sliding valve (23), Fig. 5 (not shown). Alternatively, holes 6 are formed in the slide-valve 5, Figs. 1 and la, a groove 10 in the casing 9 being connected to the receiver through a hole 11.
