1452408 Wet treatment of a continuous strand B THIES and L THIES [trading as THIES KG] 21 March 1974 [24 March 1973] 12694/74 Heading D1L In the wet treatment of a continuous strand of material a suitable aparatus comprises a container 10 for receiving an endless textile strand 11 in contact with dye liquid, the container comprising an upright portion which rises from one end of a generally horizontal and generally longer section of the container and the horizontal and upright portions of the container being interconnected by a curved section 3, a guide 1 and winch 14 for passing the strand through a straight connecting tube 8 of a cross section considerably smaller than the container which extends from the upright container portion to the opposite end 6 of the generally horizontal container portion. The tube preferably is inclined downwards from the guide 1 to the container end 6. Circulating pump 12 withdraws dye liquid from outlet 5 and from jacket 2 and returns it with new liquid and dye to a ring shaped inlet section around guide 1, a stream of this liquid then engages the textile strand 11 and flows rapidly with it into and through connecting tube 8. The winch when rotated serves to move strand and wring spent dye liquid from the strand.
