Abstract

1452270 Ventilators CLEAR HOOTERS Ltd 5 Nov 1973 [10 Oct 1972] 46542/72 Addition to 1177390 Heading F4V A ventilating nozzle comprises a housing 26, at least one spindle 22 mounted for rotation within the housing and at least one vane 11 rotatable with the spindle 22 and extending obliquely to the axis thereof, and at least two pivotally mounted flaps 18, 19 which are simultaneously operable by a single actuating member 16. In the form shown, two spindles 22, 23 are independently operable by rotation of discs 15, 17 respectively. The or adjacent flaps 18, 19 are rotatable in the same or opposite directions, and carry gear wheels or segments 20, 21 engaged by teeth on the member 16, or by a further gear wheel which meshes with member 16. The spindles 22, 23 may be mounted within rotatable part cylindrical housings 13, 14. Each flap 18, 19 includes tongues which form a seal in the closed position of the flaps. A stop (30, Fig. 3) prevents the flaps moving past their fully open positions.
