Abstract

1452194 Sewing machines; fabric guides VIRGINIO RIMOLDI & C SpA 16 May 1974 [22 May 1973] 21696/74 Heading D1C A fabric guide 9 comprises three fixed, parallel plates 10, 11, 12 between which slide two movable plates 14, 15, moved pneumatically by the piston rod 24 and bracket 23. They separate the layers of fabric being fed to the needle. When thicker areas of fabric approach the needle the two guide plates can be withdrawn to prevent the fabric jamming. A push button 30 or alternatively a knee pedal or treadle operates the plate moving means. When retracted the edges of the plates are aligned with an upstanding guide 21.
