Abstract
1451687 Herbicide BASF AG 18 Feb 1974 [24 Feb 1973] 7205/74 Heading A5E A herbicide comprises 1-phenyl-4-amino-5- chloro pyridazone (6) in particulate form in which at least 45% by wt of the herbicide has an average particle size of <5Á, at least 75% by wt of the herbicide has an average particle size of <10Á and at least 98% by wt of the herbicide has an average particle size of <20Á. The active ingredient, 1-phenyl-4-amino-5 chloropyridazone (6) is ground, option.ally with a dispersant, adherent, wetting agent or solid carrier in a jet mill, sand mill or a Perl mill and is then spray dried. Additives specified are salts of alkylnaphthalenesulphonic acids, phenolformaldehyde sodium sulphite condensates and urea-formaldehyde condensates. Clay and kaolin are examples of solid carriers. A spray liquor can be prepared using only 15-40 1. of water per Kg of active ingredient if 0.25 Kg of other material is present.
