Abstract

1451391 Spindle mountings; boring attachments WAKO WALTER KOLB KG 9 Jan 1974 [11 Jan 1973] 01105/74 Headings B3B B3K and B3B A milling or boring attachment comprises a housing having a first portion 14 rotatable relative to a second portion 10, a drive shaft 24 having a replaceable tapered member 70 for connection to a machine tool spindle 71, a tool spindle 18 mounted in a cross-slide 16, and adapted to be driven by shaft 24 through bevel gears 28, 30, 34, 36, and an interchangeable member 84 for attachment to the quill 86 of the machine tool. Radial adjustment of the crossslide is effected by a lead screw 42 which is rotated by a plug-in handle 40, a graduated ring 52 being provided for indicating the amount of adjustment. Portion 14 of the housing is rotated relative to portion 10 by a worm and wheel 66, 64, and locked by a screw 62, the setting being indicated on a graduated ring 60. A serew plug 80 for connection to a draw bar is secured to tapered member 70 by a screw 82. Tool spindle 18 can be fixed in aligment with drive shaft 24 by a screw (136), Fig. 5 (not shown), and an assembly ring (150), Fig. 4 (not shown), is provided so as to secure the attachment to quills of different diameters.
