Abstract

1451190 Pipe joints ENGLISH CLAYS LOVERING POCHIN & CO Ltd 31 Aug 1973 [8 June 1972] 26892/72 Heading F2G Each pipe in a pipe joint is lined internally with a plastics material which extends beyond the pipe to overlap the external surface of the pipe end, and a sealing ring is located around the plastics overlapping the pipe ends within a housing joining the pipes. The pipes may be made from steel &c. with a flange &c, welded around it, or from a plastics such as p.v.c. or from concrete with the flange &c. moulded integrally with it. The plastics lining may be polyurethane. As shown, a steel pipe 1, Fig. 1, is lined with polyurethane 2. A steel collar 4 is welded to the pipe end. In another form, two steel pipes 21, Fig. 2, lined with polyurethane 22, abut a seating ring 27. Annular flanges 24 are welded to the pipe ends. A housing 28 joins the two pipes.
