Abstract
1450590 Colour television tubes RCA CORPORATION 2 Oct 1973 [18 Oct 1972] 45926/73 Heading H1D An optical lens for use in the manufacture of a phosphor screen of a colour television tube has parallel, elongated discontinuities defining parallel elements 11, 12, 14, 16 ..., 26, each of which is separately contoured to reduce misregistration in the completed screen. The discontinuity may be of surface gradient (Fig. 5, not shown), or formed by the interfaces between elongated strips of glass comprising the elements and formed of different refractive index. In use, the lens is orientated such that the strips extend in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which dynamic degrouping error is a maximum.
