Abstract

1449611 Gas turbine engines - fuel pumping apparatus LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 24 Sept 1973 [3 Oct 1972] 45457/72 Heading F1J The invention relates to a fuel pumping apparatus for a gas turbine engine of the kind having re-heat combustion equipment, the apparatus comprising a main fuel pump 10 which is driven through gearing 15, 10a at low speed, and a re-heat fuel pump 11 which is driven through gearing 15, 11a at high speed. A control unit 13 is provided for the re-heat fuel pump and comprises a rotatable device which controls the pump in accordance with engine speed, there being a drive connection 14 from the main fuel pump to the control unit. The main fuel pump is for example a gear type pump and the re-heat fuel pump for example a centrifugal pump which is controlled by a throttle at the intake. The drive connection 14 may be a flexible shaft as shown.
