The bush 11 may be of porous plastic or carbon and is keyed to a stationary housing 1. The radial clearance between the bush and a rotatable sleeve 4 is adjustable by means of screws 19, 20, which secure thrust washer 18 to sleeve 4. A porous ring 21 has an annular recess 22 communicating with gap 12, via ducts 23.
