Abstract

1446090 Hot water systems SAUNIER DUVAL 29 Nov 1973 [14 Dec 1972] 55506/73 Heading F4A In a heat exchanger for producing domestic hot water by heat exchange with primary water coming from a boiler through an inlet 2, the heat exchanger comprises an inner vessel formed by a vertical inner cylindrical container 3 and a coaxial cylindrical outer container 10, spaced radially therefrom, the inner vessel being closed at the top and open at the bottom such that the inner cylindrical container 3 and the coaxial cylindrical outer container 10 are immersed in a tank 1 of primary water. A domestic secondary hot water pipe 13 is located in the immediate vicinity of the inner vessel and extends adjacent the upper region thereof. The primary water entering through the inlet 2 fills the tank 1 and circulates through an opening 8 in the container 3 exiting through a connection 4. The secondary water enters through the connection 6 circulating in the pipe 13 and through a coil 9 terminating in an outlet 5. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 3) the primary water is located in a single inner cylinder 16 which is closed at its upper portion but open at its lower portion. The primary water circulates from the passage 2 towards the outlet passage 4 at the same time filling the tank 1. Secondary water enters through a duct 17 and circulates in a double helical coil 18 concentric with the container 16 before it leaves again through a duet 19.
