1446064 Carbamoyl sulphoxides and their use as herbicides MONTECATINI EDISON SpA 9 Oct 1973 [9 Oct 1972] 47145/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises carbamoylsulphoxides of general Formula I wherein R represents an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group and R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> independently represent a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group or R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> together form a group where p is 1, 2 or 3, q is 1, 2 or 3 and n= 0 or 1 provided that when n is 1, p + q is 4 which may be prepared by oxidation of a compound of Formula II suitable oxidizing agents being perbenzoic or metachloroperbenzoic acid. Pesticidal and herbicidal compositions comprise at least one compound of Formula I.
