1445870 Thiacyanine sensitizing dyes POLAROID CORP 12 Oct 1973 [13 Oct 1972] 47693/73 Heading C4P [Also in Division G2] A photosensitive colour diffusion transfer element comprises a support bearing red-, green- and blue-sensitive silver halide emulsions having associated therewith cyan, magenta and yellow dye image providing materials, preferably dye developers, respectively, the bluesensitive emulsion containing a thiacyanine dye of the formula where R<SP>1</SP> is 1-4C alkyl; R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are alkyl, alkoxy, halogen or H; and alkylene has 1-18C, e.g. anhydro - 5 - chloro - 31 - ethyl - 3 - (4- sulphobutyl) thiacyanine hydroxide.
