Abstract
1445538 Trueing grinding wheels E WINTER & SOHN 17 Oct 1974 [22 Oct 1973] 44975/74 Heading B3D A tool for dressing grinding wheels comprises several individual dressing members 6 which are provided on a common support 5 and come into engagement in succession, each dressing member being in the form of a plate of uniform thickness and arranged to engage the grinding wheel in such a manner that the thickness extends in a direction at 90 degrees to the direction of progressive wear of the member. The support 5 is rotatably adjustable in a holder 10 to bring successive members 6 into the operative position, the members consisting of pre-treated diamonds and/or sintered diamond plates, and/or cubic crystalline boron nitride plates, the shape of each member being geometricallly defined, e.g. triangular, so that it has a constant thickness in the direction Z as it wears, or rectangular so that it has a constant thickness in the direction Z and a constant length in the direction X as it wears.
