Abstract

1444642 Moistening apparatus PITNEYBOWES INC 18 July 1974 [17 Sept 1973] 31902/74 Heading B2L [Also in Division B8] An envelope flap moistening device comprises a fin-like plastics member 1 contoured to open the flap of an envelope, and a retainer 2 which is adapted to receive a moistening pad 3, is connected to the member 1 and includes a reduced thickness portion 17 which acts as a hinge and in use biasses the pad downwards towards an envelope flap passing therebelow. The pad is removably retained by nebs 11 between portions 8 and 9 of the retainer which is held in a slot 14 of the member 1 by detents 15.
