Abstract

1444277 Wrapping machines; endless conveyers BAKER PERKINS HOLDINGS Ltd 21 Aug 1974 [22 Aug 1973] 39804/73 Headings B8C and B8A A wrapping machine in which slugs of biscuits 10 are advanced through a horizontal tube former 12 to be [wrapped by a web fed from below has two lateral conveyers 18 carrying spaced flexible supports 23 which interleave between the slugs during their passage through the former and on to longitudinal and transverse sealing dies 19, 20. Each support 23 may comprise a strip of laminated conveyer belting attached at three spaced points to the conveyer chain to form two projecting loops. The bottom edges of the loops are cut away. Alternatively each support may comprise a single loop attached at a single point to the chain. The supports enter through slots in the former. The slugs are fed to the former by fingers 14, 15 depending from an overhead conveyer.
