Tapered spigot-and-socket joints.-A pipe connexion for high-pressure fluid pipes comprises a screwed mem. her a with a spigot member e which engages a screwed socket member b which is drawn towards the member a by a flanged union nut c. The spigot member is formed with an included angle, for example, of 12 degrees, which is greater than the corresponding angle of the socket; this is preferably two degrees less. When the joint is tightened, the edge of the socket jams into the spigot and so forms a tight joint. The nut c is grooved at j to prevent jamming of the thread g of the spigot member a.
