Abstract

1443399 Junction pieces GUSTAVSBERGS FABRIKER AB 14 March 1974 [14 March 1973] 11371/74 Heading F2G A pipe manifold is made up from a plurality of mouldings of the form shown in Fig. 3 and comprising a rectangular structure having a through cavity 2 from an inlet at one end to an outlet at the other, an externally screw-threaded socket 5 and opposite this an internally screwthreaded socket 3, and a pipe passageway 7 aligned with the sockets 3, 5, open at both ends and not communicating with the cavity 2. In the manifold shown in Fig. 2 four mouldings are disposed in two parallel rows, the two mouldings in each row being joined at their adjacent ends and fitted with end wall pieces 12 having screw-threaded sockets 13 at their spaced ends. The two rows of mouldings are fixed together by interconnecting pipes 8 inserted through the passageways 7 and screwed into the sockets 3 and having flange rings 11 to secure the mouldings in place. The manifold shown in Fig. 2 has four branch outlets from each pair of mouldings and is of use in supplying, e.g. hot and cold water to four different apparatuses, all outlets being in the same plane. The mouldings are preferably of plastics material the joins between the mouldings themselves and to the end pieces 12 being by welding or by glueing. An air gap is formed between the outside of the pipes 8 and the insides of the passageways 7 in which they are mounted to reduce heat transfer.
