Abstract
1443271 Optical lenses RANK ORGANISATION Ltd 2 Jan 1975 [2 Jan 1974] 00095/74 Heading G2J A reflex lens comprises one or more components and, at the stop position, a mirror which is concave to the components. An image is formed adjacent the object and of unit magnification. In the embodiment of Fig. 1 (for which numerical data are given) the positive element is crown glass (lower refractive index) and the negative element is flint glass (higher R.I.). In another embodiment Fig. 2, (not shown) a crown meniscus element is followed by a flint meniscus element with an air space between. In Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) a negative flint meniscus is followed by a positive meniscus. In Fig. 5A the front element is crown, the rear flint. In a modification, Fig. 5B (not shown) the front element is a negative flint meniscus and the rear element is crown. In Fig. 6 the reflecting surface is formed on the rear surface of a third element. The front two elements are as in Fig. 3. In a modification Fig. 7, (not shown) the doublet is replaced by a single element but an aspheric surface is employed in the lens. An aspheric surface may be employed in any of the embodiments.
