1442851 Aminotetrahydronaphalene diols E R SQUIBB & SONS Inc 9 July 1973 32558/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula where Z is hydroxyl and Z<SP>1</SP> is R<SP>10</SP>-N-R<SP>11</SP> where R<SP>10</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> is H, C 1 -C 8 alkyl, C 3 -C 8 alkenyl, hydroxy C 1 -C 8 alkyl or phenyl C 1 -C 8 alkyl and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof. The compounds may be prepared by reacting a compound of the formula where acyl means the acyl radical of a hydrocarbon carboxylic acid having not more than 15 carbon atoms with a compound of the formula or the amino compounds may be prepared from the corresponding azide.
