Abstract
1441631 Toilet NEPON KK 20 Sept 1973 [3 March 1973 (3) 12 April 1973 16 May 1973] 44068/73 Heading E1C A toilet includes a bowl 3 having means for producing foam 6 to envelop excreta which then falls under gravity towards a drain D, and a flushing device situated below the bowl, the device comprising a container receiving waste water (e.g. from sinks) and arranged to discharge the water when it reaches a certain level to thereby flush the drain. The flushing device comprises a pivotally mounted tank 10 arranged so that, when empty, its centre of gravity is on one side of the pivot axis to maintain the tank in a water-receiving position, whilst, when the water reaches said level, the c. of g. shifts to the other side to thereby tip the tank. A pocket 18 is provided to receive weights (held in position by resin) to adjust the position of the c. of g. The toilet bowl may discharge directly into a trap 2; into the tank 10; or into a lower part of the housing C. A flexible flap 4 is provided in the soil pipe. In a modification, a plurality of toilets discharge to a common drain which is flushed by a flushing device of the above type which is located above the level of the toilets.
