1441429 Ventilating passages integral with vehicle bodies GENERAL MOTORS CORP 29 Nov 1973 [29 Nov 1972] 55414/73 Heading B7B In a vehicle body ventilating arrangement a hollow roof frame 22 is formed by inner and outer roof panels 40, 10, the outer margin of the inner panel 40 having eminences 60, Fig. 4, which are connected to the outer roof panel 10 so forming extraction air passages 64. Air is passed out from the passenger compartment into the hollow roof frame 22 by any manner, for example; the interior of rear pillar 18 communicating with the frame 22 may have air ventilation slots (26), Fig. 1 (not shown), or slots (30), Fig. 2 (not shown), may be arranged under the rear window 14 and the rear door 12 for air passage into a frame like girder (32) communicating with the roof pillars 18. Alternatively, slots (36) may be provided under roof pillar 18. The air passes through the extraction passages 64 into the gap between the rear door 12 and the roof frame 22. It would be possible to apply the invention to roof frames running in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
