Ladders b are provided with non-slipping feet for use on iron, cement, and other floors, comprising shoes a to which are attached metal guard-plates c spaced by blocks e and attached by thumb-screws d to the ladder ends. The undersides of the shoes a are furnished with brushlike surfaces f of wire, rubber, leather, felt, canvas, hair, coconut fibre, etc.; or the non-slipping surfaces may be in the form of inverted cups to give a suction effect. The shoes a may be connected by means of a leather or like strap.
