Abstract

1440324 Purifying water by flotation SIMON-HARTLEY Ltd 27 Aug 1974 [14 Sept 1973] 43343/73 Heading C1C [Also in Division B1] In a flotation process for removing suspended material from water, the means for removing the suspended material as shown in the drawings comprises a cylindrical sleeve 11 extending across the flotation tank and having an axial slot 16, means 15 for moving the sleeve over the surface of the liquid and an archimidean screw 17 positioned within the sleeve and rotated during movement thereof to gather in thickened material and discharge it at one end of the sleeve. The flotation gases are generated electrolytically.
