Abstract

1439709 Discharging compressed gas NIPPON PISTON RING CO Ltd 29 Jan 1974 [3 Feb 1973] 04212/74 Heading F4P The seal 16 of gas container 11 is punctured by punch member 7 which has formed integrally with it a hollow needle 19 having a generally conical outer wall surface provided at its distal end with an inclined cutting surface. When the needle is forced into engagement with the seal, the cutting edge punctures the seal and the conical surface of the needle forms the margin of the seal surrounding the puncture into a conical seating making sealing engagement with the needle.
