Abstract

1438692 Apparatus for producing directionally solidified castings HOWMET CORP 24 Sept 1973 [21 Feb 1973] 44692/73 Heading B3F An apparatus for producing directionally solidified castings comprises a mould 32 having a flat upper surface 52, a crucible 56 provided with an opening 60 in its bottom wall and supported on the surface 52, and means 68 for tipping the crucible to allow the molten metal contained therein to flow through the opening 60 and into the mould, and is as described in Specification 1,438,693.
