Abstract

1438495 Fluidized beds; drying granular materials ACCUMATIC ENG Ltd 20 Sept 1973 [20 Sept 1972] 43435/72 Headings F4A F4B and F4G A fluidized bed for treating granular or pulverulent material, e.g. for drying powder, comprises a permeable sintered support plate 1 having heating means 6 embedded therein and a plenum chamber 4 extending beneath the plate to receive a supply of gaseous medium via an inlet 5 in order to fluidize material on the plate. The heating means 6 may be either an electrical heating element or a hot water or steam pipe. The permeable plate may be sintered bronze, brass, aluminium or stainless steel. The gaseous medium may be compressed air.
