Abstract

1438126 Electronic timepieces INTERSIL INC 12 Dec 1973 [16 July 1973] 57626/73 Heading G3T [Also in Division H3] In an arrangement comprising an oscillator 21 coupled to a frequency translator 23, the output frequency is initially set by an array of elements in the frequency translator which determine the input/output frequency relationship. To set the frequency of the arrangement, which is an electronic timepiece, the output frequency from a frequency divider 24 following the translator 23 is compared with a reference source 32 in a programmer 31 which produces output signals on lines 33 to permanently short circuit selected diodes in the frequency determining circuit of the translator. The frequency translator includes a frequency changer stage, Fig. 3 comprising two CMOS elements 44, 48 which produce at output 46 the sum of the two frequencies applied at inputs 42, 51.
