Abstract

1437604 Selective printers EMI Ltd 30 Nov 1973 [12 Sept 1972] 42262/72 Heading B6F An electrostatic printer comprises backing electrodes 8 in the form of flexible strips, the distance between the backing electrodes 8 and charging electrodes 4 being adjustable by means varying the degree of flexure of the electrodes. The adjustment means may comprise set screws (11, Fig. 2, not shown) urging the flexible strips against the edge of an insulating support member 5 for the charging electrodes. A plurality of lines of text are recorded simultaneously on a web 1 by column groups of electrodes 4, the latent image being developed by liquid developer on a wick 16, and the web being severed into pages by a rotary blade 23 which also acts as a latch for a lid 21, the severed pages being delivered to the top of the lid 21 with the aid of a blower 26 which also dries the developed image. The developing and delivery apparatus from the subject of Specification 1,437,603 (Division G2).
