Abstract

1437093 Detergent compositions NITTO CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO Ltd and NIPPON UNITOL CO Ltd 21 May 1973 [22 May 1972] 24192/73 Heading C5D Detergent compositions comprise a mixture consisting of (A) from 20% to 95% by weight of an alkylbenzene sulphonate having an alkyl group of 8 to 16 carbon atoms, and (B) from 80% to 5% by weight of a secondary alcohol ethoxysulphate obtained by sulphating an adduct of from 1 to 8 moles of ethylene oxide and 1 mole of a secondary alcohol containing 10 to 16 carbon atoms. The preferred ratio of (A) to (B) is 40%-85% to 60%-15% and the preferred component (A) is sodium dodecylbenzene sulphate. A preferred composition is one in which a total of 15% to 30% of components (A) and (B) is admixed with water. The compositions are used for manual dish washing. A typical composition contains 35 parts by weight of each of components (A) and (B), 10 parts by weight of alcohol ethoxylate and 20 parts by weight of alkylolamide, dissolved in water.
