Abstract

1436916 Watches SUWA SEIKOSHA KK 3 May 1974 [17 May 1973] 19525/74 Heading G3T [Also in Division B2] A watch part such as a glass 20 comprises a base 10 of organic or inorganic glass with a layer 30 having a refractive index higher than that of the base to give a more decorative appearance, at least 5% of the incident light being transmitted through the part. The part may alternatively be a dial, a case band, or a liquid crystal display cover panel. As described the base 10 is of a borosilicate glass with a refractive index of 1À5 and may be coloured. The layer 30 is of a metallic resinate and formed by spraying and calcining. It is 400-500 Š thick so that interference effects are also produced. A number of materials and designs are suggested, including the use of .... several superposed layers 30 and inclined surfaces or facets (40), Fig. 3 (not shown) on the glass.
