Abstract

1436122 Fountains CHAMPION ASSOCIATED WEAVERS Ltd 13 July 1973 [19 July 1972] 33846/72 Heading F1X [Also in Divisions B2 and D1] An elongate spray nozzle is formed by a slot communicating with a fluid supply conduit, the slot being bridged by a screwed bar positioned lengthwise thereof, as shown in Fig. 1 the conduit 2 communicates through a plurality of bores 4 with a V-shaped slot 10 formed by plates 6, 8 secured to the conduit. A screwed bar 12 is disposed in the slot. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 which is intended for applying dye to a carpet the chamber 56, in which the bar 60 is disposed is fed with dye from a chamber 50 through a passage 46 formed by plates 47 spaced apart by bored spacers 52, 54. Air-flows through a passage 66 to the space between squegee blades 42, 44 flanking the nozzle outlet. The device is carried on a bar 64 which moves the nozzle over the carpet. The rate of discharge from the nozzle is pre-set by selecting an appropriate thread pitch. The Specification describes the use of the nozzle shown in Fig. 1 in a carpet steam dye fixing apparatus Fig. 2 (not shown). A nozzle may be used to form a water curtain in a room or for amusement.
