Abstract
1434749 Cleaning waste gases from sinter machines METALLGESELLSCHAFT AG 24 Oct 1973 [25 Oct 1972] 49666/73 Heading F4B The waste gases from at least part of the burning out zone D of a sinter machine are fed to the sintering S to supply oxygen for combustion and the exhaust gases from at least the last third of the sintering zone S is scrubbed before passing to atmosphere. The gas from the burning out zone D may be passed through a mechanical dust collector 17, e.g. a cyclone, before being recycled, and the exhaust gas from the ignition zone Z and the first part of the sintering zone is passed through a second dust collector 171 before passing to the stack. All the gases from the sintering and ignition zones may be scrubbed, and part of the gases from the ignition, sintering and the end of the burning out zone may be confined and fed to an electrostatic precipitator, Fig. 4. Part of the gases from the burn out zone D may be returned to that zone, and all the gases may be passed through an electrostatic precipitator before scrubbing or the scrubbed gases may be used to cool the sinter.
