1434575 Bromodichlorophenol; preparation of CELAMERCK GmbH & CO KG 1 Nov 1973 [2 Nov 1972] 50871/73 Heading C2C 4-Bromo-2,5-dichlorophenol is prepared by reacting a mixture of 2,4- and 2,5-dichlorophenol and bromine at 30-100‹ C. in the presence of glacial acetic acid, the ratio of bromine to 2,5-dichlorophenol being approximately 1 : 1. The mixture of dichlorophenols may be obtained by hydrolysis of 1,2,4 - trichlorobenzene.
