Abstract

1434359 Cabinets; fixing furniture to floors and walls V M SCHREIBER 19 Sept 1973 [23 Sept 1972] 44121/72 Headings A4B and A4U Kitchen furniture comprises a wall-mounted unit 10 including walls 22 having slots 23 extending through which is a sheet metal member 15 providing a top 17, a rear wall 16 and a bottom 18. The walls also have grooves 25 for slidably receiving doors 27-29 formed in one piece from a flexible plastics material with transverse ribs. Shelves 30 are supported on pegs projecting from openings in the walls 22. Fluorescent light fittings may be provided beneath valence portions 21 of the member 15 for lighting a counter-top 14 of a wall and floor mounted unit 12 which has walls 122, a sheet metal member 115 and grooves 125 for roll-up doors 127, 128, constructed and arranged in a manner similar to their counterparts in the unit 10. The unit 12 also has drawers 142 having runners slidably engaging slots 143 in the walls, the drawers also being supported by horizontal portions of the doors. Electric motors may be provided for the doors of the units 10 and 12. The roll-up doors may be replaced by pivoted or sliding doors or the doors may be omitted to provide open shelving. The top, bottom and rear of the member 15 may be separate parts. The wall supports 33, may be channel or L-shaped for engaging recesses at the rears of the walls 22.
