Abstract

1434250 Adding fuel vapour to I C engine charge HONDA GIKEN KOGYO KK 29 June 1973 [30 June 1972] 31169/73 Heading F1B Fuel vapour from at least one of the fuel tank 20 and carburetter float chambers 14 and 14' is absorbed in a gas permeable absorbent 24 in a container 23 when the engine is stationary or idling. When the carburetter throttle valve 21 is opened beyond idling the fuel vapour is drawn from the absorbent 24 into the main carburetter passage 12 through a restriction 31 and checkvalve 30. The carburetter passages 12 and 13 provide lean and rich mixtures respectively for the main and auxiliary combustion chambers 3 and 5.
