Abstract

1433301 Tension bridle LOEWY ROBERTSON ENG CO Ltd 3 Jan 1975 [19 Feb 1974] 7417/74 Heading B3M A tension bridle 12 for a rolling mill carries rollers 14 for tensioning a strip 5 being rolled, the bridle having a pair of spaced side frames 16 which incorporate conduits for feeding a coolant and/or lubricant to nozzles 30, 32, 34 and 36 directed towards the mill rolls. The nozzles are mounted on hollow spray bars 38, 40, 42 and 44 which extend between the side frames. The use of internal conduits in the frames obviates the need for flexible hoses. The side frames are pivotally mounted at 22 to the mill housings, for movement away from the rolls. The spray bars may be adjustably mounted between the side frames, or the individual nozzles may be adjustably carried on the bars. The nozzles may be in groups each controlled by a valve, or may have indivual control valves to assist in the control of terminal camber of the rolls.
